How to choose a photo booth in Toronto? Ask six questions before you compare prices: how many hours are included, what prints are unlimited, how much deposit is required, whether travel fees apply, whether an attendant stays, and how much space the booth needs — about 8 feet by 8 feet.
Updated: October 29, 2026
This guide is for weddings, corporate events and birthday parties in Toronto and the GTA. It does not rank companies. It gives you the questions that change the final price and the final experience, so you can compare written quotes on the same terms.

How to choose a photo booth in Toronto: what should you ask before you book?
Ask eight questions and get each answer in writing: booked hours, setup time, prints, deposit, travel fees, idle time, attendant cover and backup plan. A written answer lets you compare two quotes fairly, because two packages with the same headline hours can include very different things.
- How many service hours are included, and does setup time count inside those hours?
- How many prints are unlimited, and are they 2×6 strips or 4×6 prints?
- How much deposit secures the date, and what happens if you cancel or move the date?
- Is travel included in Toronto and the GTA, and where does a travel fee start?
- What happens during idle time, such as dinner or speeches, and is idle time charged?
- Does an attendant stay for the full event, or is the booth self-serve?
- What is the backup plan if equipment stops working during the event?
- How much floor space and power does the booth need at your venue?
For timing and package questions, see the frequently asked questions page.
What types of photo booths can you rent in Toronto?
Toronto rentals fall into six broad types, and the type decides what guests take home. An open-air booth gives printed photos, a 360 booth gives digital video only, and a digital-only booth gives no prints at all, so compare the output first, not only the headline price.
| Booth type | Fits | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Open-air booth | Weddings, corporate events, birthdays | Check print size and backdrop choice |
| Enclosed booth | Guests who want a private curtained space | Fits fewer guests at once; ask about load-in time |
| 360 video booth | Social video and brand moments | Digital video only; no physical prints included |
| Mirror booth | Indoor events with an interactive mirror | Higher price band; needs indoor space |
| Roaming booth | Large rooms where guests move around | No fixed booth and no queue; prints are magnets |
| Digital-only booth | Tight budgets and screen-only sharing | No prints and no backdrop included |
Published starting prices we checked in October 2026 tend to put digital-only booths in a lower band, open-air booths in the middle, and mirror and 360 booths in a higher band. Inclusions differ, so ask for an itemised quote before you compare bands. See the props and backdrops page for backdrop and prop choices.
A booth setup brings guests, a backdrop and props together in one spot, and an attendant beside the booth helps guests pose and keeps prints moving, which helps when the queue builds up. See the gallery for event photos.

How much does a photo booth cost in Toronto, and what changes the price?
The headline price is only the starting point. Hours, print size, add-ons, extra hours, idle time, travel and deposit terms all change the final total, so two quotes that look close can end up far apart once every line is added.
Ask for a written quote that lists service hours, print size and print count, backdrop and props, attendant cover, setup and teardown, travel, and every add-on price. If a line is missing, ask whether it is included or charged separately, before you sign.
Add-ons change the total in the same way. A memory book, a custom backdrop, extra print sizes and animated files are useful, but they are not in every package, so check whether each one is included, an add-on, or not offered.
Booking terms also change the cost of changing your mind. Deposit amounts, refund rules and date-change rules differ from company to company, so get the deposit and cancellation terms in writing with the quote.
How much space does a photo booth need at a Toronto venue?
Allow about 8 feet by 8 feet for the booth and backdrop, plus 1 to 2 small tables for props and print collection, and one standard power outlet. That footprint fits many Toronto and GTA venues, including rooms in North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill.
Measure before you book. Tape out 8 feet by 8 feet where the booth would stand, leave room for the tables beside it, and check that a standard outlet is within reach. If fixed furniture takes up part of the room, measure what is left before you confirm the booking.
Waka Waka Photo Booth asks for the same footprint: about 8 feet by 8 feet, plus 1 to 2 small tables and one standard power outlet, with setup and teardown included.
Outdoors, a booth also needs cover and a power supply. A terrace or courtyard can work, but check the venue rules for outdoor use first, and do not plan an uncovered setup.
What should you check with your venue before you book?
Check the venue rules before you book the booth, not on the night. Ask about booked hours, load-in routes, guest lists, decoration rules and music end times, because a booth that fits the floor can still fail on a rule you did not check.
If your event is in a condo party room, the building sets its own rules for the shared space. Under Ontario’s Condominium Act, 1998, a condo board can make rules respecting the use of the common elements, which is why details vary from building to building. The City of Toronto noise rules set the legal limits for amplified sound, but your building’s rules may be stricter, so ask management for the room’s music end time.
Get the venue answers in writing before you book the booth, so setup, hours and the last group all sit inside the booked time.

Frequently asked questions
How much deposit do you need to book a photo booth in Toronto?
Ask for two numbers in writing: the deposit amount and the refund rule. Deposit amounts and refund rules differ from company to company, so do not assume a deposit is refundable or transferable. Waka Waka Photo Booth asks for a deposit of at least 30% to secure your date.
Does a Toronto photo booth rental charge a travel fee?
It depends on the company and the distance. Some companies include travel, some charge by distance, and some waive the fee within a set area, so ask whether travel is included and where a fee starts. Waka Waka Photo Booth charges no extra travel fee within Toronto and the GTA.
Do Toronto photo booths include unlimited prints?
Many traditional booths do, but digital-only packages do not, because they have no printer. Ask whether prints are unlimited, how many guests can print, and whether the limit is per session or per event. Waka Waka Photo Booth includes unlimited 2×6 prints in every package, and unlimited 4×6 prints in Deluxe.
Does a photo booth rental include an attendant in Toronto?
Ask whether an attendant stays for the full event. An attendant helps guests pose, keeps prints moving and handles problems, while a self-serve booth leaves guests to run the screen themselves. Waka Waka Photo Booth includes an onsite attendant in every package.
Can you book a photo booth last minute in Toronto?
Sometimes, if the date is still open, but do not assume a last-minute date is available. Ask about availability first, and ask whether a late booking carries an extra fee. As of October 29, 2026, an early December party is about five weeks away, so December dates need a prompt check.
How do you compare two photo booth quotes in Toronto?
Put both quotes on the same lines: hours, print size and count, attendant, travel, deposit and add-ons. If a line is missing from one quote, ask for it in writing before you compare totals. The lower headline price is not always the lower final total.
